Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: June 30, 2026
FormMaps is committed to making college and career guidance usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. We design and build our website and platform to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one-time checkbox.
Our target standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These internationally recognized guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, motor, auditory, and cognitive needs.
Measures we take
To support this goal, we build with accessibility in mind, including:
- Semantic HTML and proper heading structure so screen readers can navigate content in a logical order.
- Full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators on links, buttons, and form fields.
- Color contrast checked against WCAG AA, including how our accent colors are used on light and dark backgrounds.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images, and decorative elements hidden from assistive technologies.
- Responsive layouts that reflow and stay usable when text is enlarged or the page is zoomed up to 200%.
- Respect for the reduce-motion preference, so animations are minimized for people who ask for less movement.
Known limitations
We are honest about where we still fall short and are actively improving:
- Some decorative brand elements, such as ambient background glows and large quotation marks, are present for visual style and are hidden from assistive technologies rather than described.
- A few third-party embeds (for example, the demo scheduler) are outside our direct control, and their accessibility depends on the provider.
- As we add new pages and features, individual components may temporarily lag our standard until our next review.
Feedback and accommodations
If you run into a barrier, need content in another format, or want to request an accommodation, please email us at hello@formmaps.com. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will work with you to provide the information or service you need.
